Specification For Security Fencing
Security Fence Minimum requirements:
Height: 2.4 meters height
Overhand: 45 overhangs fitted with security razor wire or concerting wire.
Structure: Fence must be embedded in concrete.
Holes: Any services running through the fence must be secured
at the point of protrusion through fence.
Fence at this area must be secured.
Ditches: Any ditches under fence must be secured with chain link fence and secured to prevent intrusion.
Corrosion protection galvanizing: all fence material to carry at least a 10-year guarantee against corrosion.

The main support posts for the fencing shall be at 2.75m centre to centre or as may be appropriate, intermediate posts shall be topped by fixed "Y" typed barbed wire holder with a leg length of min 250 x 40 x 8mm. All fencing members shall be maintenance free and consequently manufactured using either an austenitic stainless steel or carbon steel galvanized at the manufacturer's work. As a minimum, however, the following requirements

The panels and parts shall apply:

Pales
Shall be cold rolled  "W" section profile to conform fully with all the requirements of BS 1722 Pt 12. There shall be 17 pales per 2.75m bay each pale shall be minimum 2.4m long and 3.0mm thick grade HR 15 steel with a triple pointed top. Pales shall be fixed at 152mm centers using security fasteners specified.

Horizontal rails
Shall  be 50 x 50 x 6mm angle iron grade 43 A steel. Each rail shall be holed 17 times to fix pales and twice for connection to fishplates specified separately.

Posts
Shall be minimum 3.10m long in 102 x 44 x 7.44 kg/m RSJ section  grade 43 A steel. Each post shall be twice slotted to receive fishplates specified separately and twice holed for fixing "Y" extension arm specified separately.

Intermediate Support legs
Shall be 450mm long 30 x 10mm flat Grade 43 A steel. There shall be two legs evenly spaced to each 2.75 wide bay.

Fishplates
Shall be 140mm long in 30 x 8mm flat Grade 43 A steel and twice slotted for fixing horizontal rails with bolts specified separately

Palisade Fencing Finish
After fabrication all steelwork shall be hot dip galvanized to BS 729 specification, multi stage in line pre-treated comprising Alkaline degrease, Acid wash, De-oxidizing, Zinc Phosphates and Chromate conditioning. Following this chemical pre-treatment materials shall be high pressure blow dried and oven degassed prior to coating with Architectural grade polyester resin and oven curing. All processes shall be carried out through a continuous on line plant in accordance with BS 6497 and to exceed the performance requirements of DTP 6024 and BS 1722 Part 16. Finish shall be hot spun galvanized in accordance with BS 729 and coated with color matching coating repair material.
